THIS IS MY STORY

My love for rugby began when I was a ball boy for Mumias Buffalo at around 10 years old. Watching the players sparked a passion in me, but it wasn’t until six years later, while at St. Joseph’s High School in Kitale, that I started playing the game myself. After high school, I joined Kabras, where my skills and dedication grew, eventually leading me to the national 7’s team, Shujaa, at the age of 21.
As much as I’ve achieved in rugby, my connection to the environment has been just as important. Growing up in Kenya, I saw firsthand the beauty and fragility of our natural world. This inspired me to launch various tree-planting campaigns such as one alongside my teammates, creating Shujaa Forest. For me, rugby and environmental advocacy go hand in hand—they both require teamwork, dedication, and the desire to leave something better for future generations.
"The earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed."
— Mahatma Gandhi
Looking ahead, my aspirations are twofold: to continue excelling in rugby while expanding my impact on environmental sustainability. On the field, I aim to push my boundaries, contribute to my team’s success, and inspire the next generation of players to pursue the sport with passion and discipline. I want to leave a legacy in Kenyan rugby, not just as a player, but as a role model who shows that hard work and perseverance lead to success.
Off the field, I’m deeply committed to growing my environmental efforts. I envision expanding the tree-planting initiatives, working with communities and organizations to create lasting, sustainable forests across Kenya. My goal is to involve more people in conservation efforts, raising awareness about the importance of protecting our natural world. Ultimately, I hope to use both my platform in rugby and my environmental campaigns to drive positive change, inspiring others to take action for a greener and more sustainable future.
